Legendary singer and actress Barbra Streisand praised John Travolta’s daughter Ella Bleu Travolta and her song Little Bird – a song she wrote about the loss of her mother Kelly Preston.

The icon, 82, shared a snap of the 24-year-old Ella – as she appeared on the Sunrise morning show – and wrote a gushing caption about her on her Instagram page.

‘We’re so proud of you and we love the song you wrote for your beautiful mama. We love you. Barbra and Jim [husband James Brolin],’ she wrote.

Kelly died from breast cancer at age 57 on July 12, 2020.

Barbra and John have been friends for years.

He shared a sweet tribute to his pal for her 80th birthday in 2022 – revealing he sent her a video wishing her a happy birthday – which he also posted to his Instagram page.

In the clip, John called her a ‘force of nature’ and said there were not ‘enough words to describe how special this human being is.’

Ella’s song Little Bird was released on September 6 as a single – which will be on her upcoming EP called Colors of Love.

It was the last song she wrote for her EP. 

The song is about coping with loss, she explained in an interview with People magazine.

‘I grew up very much so in the public eye. And with that comes a lot of attention, especially when you lose someone,’ she told the outlet.

‘There’s definitely the natural support and global support that comes with that,’ she added.

‘But then, there can be a natural input and expectation of how you should feel or how people assume that you feel or how other people feel, that gets added in.’ 

Ella said that the song focuses on holding on to ‘those pure relationships’ that a person has with their loved ones they lost, and the memory of that.

‘It’s sort of the viewpoint of a mama bird talking to a baby bird and just not letting any other interference get in between it, because your true instincts were there all along,’ she told the outlet.

John proudly shared the new song to his Instagram page on the release date – September 6 – also revealing that it was his wedding anniversary to Kelly.

They would have celebrated 33rd wedding anniversary.

‘This is a very special day Ella is releasing her new single called “Little Bird,”‘ John wrote on his Instagram. 

‘This song and video is an homage to her mother, and it also happens to be my wedding anniversary with Kelly. It is one of the songs on her upcoming album that I helped produce – please enjoy!’ he said.
