EU Foreign Policy Chief Josep Borrell criticized Israel for exacerbating tensions in the Middle East, particularly in its conflict with Iran. In an interview, he accused Israeli PM Netanyahu of escalating the situation from a position of military superiority, which he said relies on Western support. Borrell also condemned Israel for blocking humanitarian aid to Gaza, causing immense suffering. With Borrell’s term ending soon, Estonian PM Kaja Kallas will replace him in December, known for her pro-Ukraine stance and support for Israel’s right to self-defense.
