Efterklang’s ‘Things We Have In Common’ Completes A Chapter | News | Clash Magazine Music News, Reviews & Interviews

Danish group Efterklang return with new album ‘Things We Have In Common’.

The band kicked off a new era with 2019’s ‘Altid Sammen’, a resetting of the dials. Leaving themselves completely open, their evolution continued apace on the complex yet dynamic follow-up, 2021’s ‘Windflowers’.

‘Things We Have In Common’ completes this cycle. Sealing a unique triptych, it finds the band – Mads BrauerCasper Clausen and Rasmus Stolberg – joined by an old friend, as Rune Mølgaard returns to the fold.

Out now, the album was trailed by single ‘Getting Reminders’ with Beirut’s Zach Condon on trumpet, and those baroque flourishes continue on the refulgent songwriting that makes up their new LP.

An often moving, always surprising document, ‘Things We Have In Common’ ranks among Efterkang’s best work.

Tune in now.

Catch Efterklang in London on October 5th at the Barbican.
