With the US election fast approaching, Kamala Harris’s list of celebrity backers has kept on growing.
The current vice-president of the United States is up against former president Donald Trump, who is hoping to return to the White House for a second, non-consecutive term.
As has become the norm with major elections – especially the US presidential race – famous faces have publicly stated their support for the candidates.
From Hollywood A-listers to pop royalty, here are the celebrities who’ve backed Kamala Harris ahead of the November 5 election.
Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift publicly revealed who she will be voting for in the wake of Ms Harris and Mr Trump’s televised debate in September.
The Look What You Made Me Do singer told her followers she had tuned in to the debate to learn more about what the two presidential hopefuls offered the country.
Not long after, she announced her political allegiance: Swift would be voting for Kamala Harris.
In her lengthy social media post, Swift explained that she had decided to make her voting decisions public after a fake AI post suggested that she was endorsing Trump.
“It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter,” she said. “The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth.
“I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election.”
The pop star praised Ms Harris and her running mate, while also encouraging her followers to register to vote so they can have their say later this year.
She also signed off with “Taylor Swift, Childless Cat Lady,” in an apparent swipe at Republican VP hopeful JD Vance’s critical remarks of women.
Celebrity endorsements don’t normally have a massive impact on the presidential race but some experts believe that Swift’s backing could be a watershed moment.

The 75-year-old rocker labelled Trump “the most dangerous candidate for president in my lifetime” and added: “His disdain for the sanctity of our constitution, the sanctity of democracy, the sanctity of the rule of law and the sanctity of the peaceful transfer of power should disqualify him from the office of president ever again.”
In his video, shared on Instagram, the Boss said Ms Harris and her running mate Tim Walz have pledged a vision of the country which “respects and includes everyone”.
He continued: “And they want to grow our economy in a way that benefits all, not just a few like me on top.
“That’s the vision of America I’ve been consistently writing about for 55 years.”

Barack and Michelle Obama have also switched their support from President Biden to Ms Harris, and Mr Obama gave an impassioned speech on day two of the DNC on August 20, urging voters to back Ms Harris in the upcoming election.
“In this new economy, we need a president who actually cares about the millions of people all across this country who wake up every day to do the essential, often thankless work to care for our sick and clean our streets and deliver our packages – and stand up for their right to bargain for better wages and working conditions,” Mr Obama said. “Kamala will be that president.”

The post read: “Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats – it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this.”
