BBC fans are demanding another series of Line of Duty after the main cast were spotted on a chaotic night out in London. Vicky McClure, Adrian Dunbar and Martin Compston headed out on Wednesday and were featured in a hilarious clip online.
Sharing the video onto Vicky and Martin’s Instagram accounts, the trio can be seen giggling and smiling as they endured wild rickshaw ride around the streets of London. They added the caption: “AC12 oot and aboot’ (sic).”
In the footage, Martin shouted ‘We’re back!’ as the group made their way around the capital and erupted into fits of laughter as the soundtrack ‘I Will Survive’ played during the ride.
Speaking to the camera, Vicky chuckled: ‘Hi everyone, we just needed a ride to a restaurant.’ Adrian then said: ‘I mean I’m trying to keep it together.’
Fans are now demanding for another series of Line of Duty to be made thanks to the spontaneous reunion. The popular BBC police drama last aired in May 2021 and the sixth series was thought to be the last.
One person said in the comments section: “Ahhh the best trio! Hope to see you all back on our screens as AC-12 one day!”
A second person wrote: “This better be a video of you lot p***ing about after a long day of shooting season 7…”
A third fan also typed: “Absolutely love you 3 and your wonderful friendship long may it continue #ac12,” as a fourth said: “Mother of God, when will you be back on our screens? would love it!”
The highly anticipated final episode of series six saw 15.24 million viewers tune in to find out the identity of H, making it the most watched episode of a drama in 20 years, according to BBC bosses.
But, when it was revealed that Ian Buckells was exposed as H, many viewers were disappointed and flocked to social media to voice their frustration.
This prompted the BBC to defend the finale and make a statement, pointing out that it ‘deliberately aimed to wrongfoot viewers’ expectations’.
They said: “We always aim to produce the most captivating drama possible for viewers to enjoy and we’re extremely proud of this series – for the recognition it received and for the support from viewers.”
Line of Duty can be streamed on BBC iPlayer.
