A $1 million reward has been offered for information that helps solve the 2015 murder of Indian mother Prabha Arun Kumar.
The background: The NSW government and police have announced that they will offer a $1 million reward to anyone who can help solve the almost decade-old murder of Indian mother and IT worker, Prabha Arun Kumar.
Kumar was found dead on a footpath in Parramatta Park in Sydney’s west on 7 March 2015. The 41-year-old was walking home from work when she was stabbed in the neck.

What else to know: Kumar was on the phone with her husband Arun Kumar, who lived in India, when she was attacked and killed. He reportedly heard his wife be confronted by her attacker.
She lived 300 metres from where she was killed.
Her husband, who lived in Bangalore with the couple’s daughter, flew into Australia when he learned of his wife’s death.
She was contemplating moving back to India because she missed her family.
Despite police pursuing multiple leads and appealing for information from the public, the case remains unsolved.
Investigators previously denied the attack was racially motivated.
In the days after the stabbing, then-NSW premier Mike Baird assured the Indian community that authorities would find the killer.
“The people of NSW have a very strong affinity for India and its people and I want to reassure the people of India that the NSW government is treating this investigation with the highest possible priority,” he said at the time.
