The Rockport House is a short walk from Rockport’s picturesque waterfront.

A Victorian-era inn on Cape Ann has a new name and new look after a $5 million renovation.

The Rockport House, formerly the Pleasant Street Inn, is a luxury boutique hotel in Rockport owned by Madbury Real Estate Ventures, a subsidiary of Madbury Capital. It is a short walk from Rockport’s picturesque waterfront, as well as the town’s beaches, restaurants, and art galleries. 

The renovation began in May 2023 and was completed in September. The work was done by design firm Winter Holben and architect CWC Design.

The inn, which has “wonderfully quirky rooms,” according to its website, is a collection of three properties: the Main Inn, a Carriage House, and a private Cottage. 

The Main Inn, originally built in the 1890s, features ten single-bed studios and two suites with full kitchens, as well as a common area where guests can gather.

Guests can choose between one-bedroom suites, as well as deluxe and superior king and queen suites. Each room has a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee station.

For a more casual setting, the Carriage House offers three two-bed studios, a single bedroom, and an apartment with a full kitchen. An ADA-compliant room is located in this building as well.

The Cottage is a private three-bedroom home with a patio and fire pit. It is great for families, longer stays, or a getaway with friends, according to the team.

The hotel offers a remote concierge service available by phone, text, or email. There is free access to a guest laundry room in the basement level of the Main Inn. Pets are allowed in the Carriage House and Cottage, but not in the Main Inn.

Rates range from $190 to $500 per night, depending on the time of year and room type.
