Little Dragon’s Yukimi Shares Debut Solo Single ‘Break Me Down’ | News | Clash Magazine Music News, Reviews & Interviews

Yukimi is embarking on a solo project!

Today the lead singer of Grammy-nominated Swedish outfit Little Dragon has shared her debut solo single, ‘Break Me Down’, via Ninja Tune.

Co-created with bandmate Erik Bodin and Lianne La Havas, ‘Break Me Down’ marks the first time Yukimi has written with another woman, a vehicle for her to fully manifest a divine feminine energy over a spacious, granular groove.

Ushering in the cleansing transition of Autumn, the single is accompanied by a music video directed by Fredrik Egerstrand. The video was shot at Hovs Hallar, the same beach where Ingmar Bergman shot scenes for his film ‘The Seventh Seal’; Yukimi reenacts the iconic scene with Death and the Knight at the exact position and framing as a tribute to the classic film.

Little Dragon released their seventh album ‘Slugs Of Love‘ album last year. The band has performed at Coachella, Glastonbury, Lollapalooza to NPR’s Tiny Desk and collaborated with the likes of Mac Miller, Kali Uchis, Gorillaz, Tinashe, Big Boi, KAYTRANADA, De La Soul, BADBADNOTGOOD, DJ Shadow, Faith Evans and Dave Sitek, among others.
