GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The candidates for United States Senate in Michigan, Mike Rogers and Elissa Slotkin, are meeting for a debate in Michigan.

The debate is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2024, and will last about an hour. They’re at WOOD TV8 in Grand Rapids.

Political reporter Rick Albin is the moderator, and anchor Amber Krycka presents questions submitted by voters.

A recent WDIV/Detroit News survey showed that Slotkin holds a 3.5% lead over Rogers in Michigan: 46.8%-43.3%

Rogers has closed the gap since August, when Slotkin held an 8.5% lead.

Slotkin is winning 91% of Kamala Harris voters and holds a 13-point lead among college voters.

Rogers is winning 85% of Donald Trump voters and holds a 2.9-point lead among non-college voters.

The most recent survey showed Slotkin leads Rogers by 10.5% in Metro Detroit.
